New School Year, New Grade!

Wow, this was a quick summer, but a memorable one. I enjoyed spending time with my family this summer! We went on camping trips, explored the zoo several times, spent time with friends, went to Disney, and vacationed at the beach for a few days. Saying we had a busy summer is an understatement. On my little bit of spare time, I researched educational ideas for my future students. I am excited and ready to be back in the classroom teaching a whole new group of children. There are going to be a lot of new changes this year in the classroom, but all of the changes being implemented are in the best interest of the students. I feel like this is going to be a great year at JWW!

Here are just a few pictures of our trip to Disney, camping, and the zoo. Lots of fun and many memories!!

Field Day in Kindergarten!

It sure was a hot day. The children enjoyed the bouncer they got jump and slide on, but by the time it was time for the events the weather was almost 90 degrees. They were so hot and I was too! We came in and enjoyed Popsicles, thanks to Jake's mom. They were a big hit. Here are some pictures from our day.

Our Daily News!

We have been doing daily news every morning to start out day. The daily news reinforces our skills that we have been learning throughout the year. The students really enjoy correcting the sentences that I write each day. After they are corrected, I draw a stick with a child's name on it, for them to get to take the daily news home. Here's a picture of Dylan Evans correcting one of the sentences we have done.

The Power Kids

These students work with Ms. York and Ms. Kay everyday for 30 minutes. Today was their 100th day of lessons. They are 100 strong and they have the power to read! We are so proud of them!!

Laps for learning

We walked the track outside to raise money for technology. It was a bit breezy that day, but my kiddos did really good with their walk. March 14, 2014

Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration

We have celebrated Dr. Seuss birthday with a special teacher coming to read a book called, "Bartholomew and the Oobleeck." After the story Mrs. Pack-Brown explore what Oobleeck feels like. Some of them loved it and some thought it was gross. It was pretty cool! We also celebrated his birthday with a parade of "Fox and Socks." The students made the mask and walked the hallways with their disguise. Here are some pictures from that day.
